The Sandiganbayan has again rejected former senator Ramon Revilla Jr.’s bid to have Associate Justice Karl Miranda removed from hearing his malversation case.
The court’s Third Division denied Revilla’s motion for reconsideration, saying he failed to present clear and convincing evidence of bias or prejudice against him.
Miranda had opposed the majority ruling granting Revilla P1 million bail, arguing that his temporary release was difficult to justify while his co-accused remained detained.
Revilla claimed Miranda relied on uncorroborated testimony from state witness Roberto Bernardo, whose lawyer was allegedly Miranda’s brother.
The case involves allegations that Revilla received kickbacks from a P92.8-million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
