Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte and former senator Antonio Trillanes IV are set to testify before the Senate impeachment court this week in the case involving Vice President Sara Duterte.
Baste is expected to testify about his sister’s declared business interests and contracts secured by GenCorp Industries Inc. in Davao City and other government agencies.
Trillanes is expected to discuss the alleged sources of the Duterte couple’s reported P6.7 billion in total assets.
The prosecution is also expected to call Anti-Money Laundering Council executive director Ronel Buenaventura and other government officials as witnesses.
The hearings focus on allegations that Sara Duterte failed to divest from business and financial interests while serving as vice president, in violation of constitutional restrictions on government contracts.
