DHSUD RECORDS 173% GROWTH IN HOUSING AID FROM JANUARY TO SEPTEMBER

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) reported a 173% increase in socialized housing units financed for minimum-wage and low-income earners from January to September 2026, reaching 10,904 units from 3,987 in the same period last year.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling attributed the growth to the Marcos administration’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which offers qualified homebuyers a subsidized 3% housing loan rate through the Pag-IBIG Fund.

Socialized housing financing also surged 172% to ₱12.10 billion from ₱4.45 billion in 2025.

Pag-IBIG Fund financed a total of 68,514 homes worth ₱111.29 billion during the first nine months of 2026, up 15% in units and 20% in housing loan releases year-on-year.

DHSUD said expanded financing options, including house-and-lot packages, lot-only purchases, and rental housing, aim to make affordable homes accessible to more Filipinos.
