Parañaque City has intensified cleanup and security preparations for the 49th ASEAN Summit scheduled for Nov. 16 to 18, with 46 cubic meters of waste collected along Macapagal Avenue.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city is coordinating with the Presidential Security Command (PSC) to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and orderly surroundings during the international gathering.
PSC personnel visited the city to discuss security plans and coordination for the summit and related activities.
Olivarez noted that Parañaque’s proximity to Ninoy Aquino International Airport, major roads, and hotels makes it an important area for hosting delegates and facilitating their travel.
The city government said it would continue cleanup operations and cooperate with national security officials to ensure the summit runs smoothly.
