Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya assured the Filipino-Chinese business community of the city’s commitment to maintaining peace and order following the killing of businessman Romy Li on September 9.
Li, a 52-year-old civil engineer and hardware store owner, was shot in broad daylight, with police suspecting personal grudges or business conflicts behind the crime.
Mayor Gasataya condemned the violence, ordered a full investigation, and emphasized zero tolerance for such acts.
Bacolod City Police Director Col. Joeresty Coronica called the incident isolated and promised efforts to apprehend the suspects.
The local business community and Bacolod Tay Tung High School mourned Li’s death and urged authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ensure justice.
