The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed nearly 60,000 personnel to ensure safety and security as millions of Filipinos travel for Holy Week from March 29 to April 6.
At least 2.4 million passengers are expected at ports nationwide, while over 1.3 million are projected at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and nearly 1,300 buses received special permits to accommodate travelers.
Police, along with the Coast Guard, Armed Forces, and local agencies, will manage crowds, prevent crime, and enforce safety regulations under the “Ligtas Semana Santa 2026” program.
Road safety is a top priority, with the PNP Highway Patrol and the LTFRB conducting inspections to ensure buses and public vehicles are roadworthy.
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways confirmed the Maharlika Highway is ready for holiday travel after recent repairs and improvements.
