Actress and law student Yasmien Kurdi is using International Women’s Month to advocate for women’s empowerment and rights through both law and personal reflection.
She shared on Instagram about taking an exam on Gender Sensitivity and Laws on Women and Children’s Rights, emphasizing the importance of legal feminism in addressing Filipinas’ struggles and affirming their dignity.
Yasmien highlighted key Philippine laws protecting women, including the Anti-Violence Against Women Act, the Magna Carta of Women, and the Safe Spaces Act, noting their enforcement through Supreme Court jurisprudence.
She encouraged women to challenge systems that silence them, set boundaries, assert their rights, and “break the silence” to claim equality.
Beyond law, Yasmien has explored culinary arts and children’s literature, recently launching a children’s book promoting anti-bullying awareness at the Philippine Book Festival 2026.
