Twenty-seven families, or 92 individuals, evacuated after Ibid Creek in Barangay Biak na Bato, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, overflowed amid continuous rain on Tuesday.
Volcanic debris from Kanlaon Volcano’s activities was swept downstream, causing flooding that reached nearby homes.
The creek overflowed after sediment and mud accumulated in the waterway, forcing the current to take an alternative path.
No injuries or structural damage were reported.
Local officials said plans are underway to relocate the affected families following similar incidents earlier this year.
