US authorities have offered assistance to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in its investigation of Thomas Markle over alleged possession of child exploitation materials.
PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said US officials initiated contact and expressed readiness to support the ongoing probe.
Authorities have secured Markle’s laptop for forensic examination following the discovery of suspected materials during an operation in Cebu.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stressed the importance of international cooperation in investigating cases involving child exploitation.
The PNP will coordinate with law enforcement agencies in the US and United Kingdom to strengthen the investigation.
