The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) urged consumers to exercise caution when buying squishy toys, warning that unauthorized products may pose health and safety risks to children.
The agency previously issued advisories against two unregistered products, Squishy Delicious Blue and Squishy Delicious Green, both made in China.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission also warned that some squishy toys contain water beads, gels, and other materials that may cause choking, intestinal blockages, or chemical exposure if swallowed or leaked.
Consumer watchdog BAN Toxics praised the FDA and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for taking action against potentially hazardous toys.
The group called on authorities to enforce toy safety regulations and remove unsafe products from the market.
