Bacoor City Mayor Strike Revilla ordered the suspension of the business permit and closure of Ahjay Paws Aftercare Pet Crematorium after the remains of 26 dogs and three cats were found dumped in Bulacan.
The crematorium owner failed to present sufficient documents or CCTV footage proving that the pets entrusted to the establishment had been properly cremated.
Several affected pet owners are seeking compensation, while others plan to file complaints.
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) urged victims to pursue legal action, saying the alleged deception could constitute estafa.
PAWS also advised pet owners to keep receipts, certificates, and other evidence to support their complaints.
