Rosegie Ramos won the bronze medal in the women’s 53kg snatch event at the IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Ningbo, China, on Thursday, Oct. 29, giving the Philippines its second medal in the tournament.

The 22-year-old lifted 97 kilograms, finishing just one kilo behind gold medalist Zhang Haiqin of China and silver medalist Miranda Ulrey of the United States.

Her younger sister, Rose Jean Ramos, also secured a snatch bronze in the women’s 49kg event earlier in the competition.

Rosegie finished fifth overall with a total lift of 211kg after placing fifth in the clean and jerk.

Other Filipino bets, including Elreen Ando, Kristel Macrohon and Albert Ian Delos Santos, are set to compete in the coming days as they seek ranking points for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
