The Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CeMAP) expects cement demand to remain flat this year, reversing its earlier forecast of a possible decline due to weak government spending.
CeMAP president John Reinier Dizon said demand fell by around two to three percent from January to September, amid global conflicts, rising energy costs, and slower infrastructure projects.
However, manufacturers expect stronger demand in the fourth quarter as government infrastructure spending improves.
Dizon also projected cement demand to grow by around five to six percent in 2027, in line with the country’s expected economic expansion.
He said high inflation remains a key concern despite the industry’s optimism about next year.
