The Philippines and Paraguay signed a visa waiver agreement for ordinary passport holders aimed at boosting tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Santiago Peña Palacios witnessed the signing ceremony at Malacañang Palace, along with a separate agreement on diplomatic training cooperation.
Both leaders also pledged stronger collaboration in agriculture, renewable energy, and commerce, with Marcos pushing for increased Philippine exports such as tuna, sardines, and milkfish to Paraguay.
Peña, meanwhile, highlighted growing opportunities for Paraguayan exports of beef, pork, poultry, grains, and agro-industrial products to the Philippine market.
The two countries also expressed optimism about expanding economic ties through regional trade partnerships involving Mercosur and ASEAN.
