A minor phreatomagmatic eruption at Taal Volcano caused ashfall in nearby communities, with black plumes rising 2,800 meters high. The eruption lasted four minutes, producing ashfall in Agoncillo and Laurel towns in Batangas, while sulfur dioxide emissions reached 7,216 tons on Nov. 30, higher than the monthly average. Phivolcs clarified that despite localized inflation since September, a major eruption is unlikely under Alert Level 1. Residents are advised to wear masks to protect from ash and gases, while pilots are cautioned to avoid the area. Fishing near the volcano is permitted, provided safety zones are observed.
