Senators are pushing for a truce between Panfilo Lacson and Alan Peter Cayetano to allow the Senate to focus on priority matters, including the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Blue Ribbon Committee chair Erwin Tulfo said the committee will decide this week whether to drop its planned investigation into alleged flood control anomalies in Taguig.
Tulfo said the probe may be left to the Office of the Ombudsman to avoid duplicating its investigation, although the Senate could reopen the issue if new evidence emerges.
Meanwhile, Lacson and Cayetano continued exchanging barbs over the controversy, with both defending their positions.
Cayetano said he is prepared to face any legal cases arising from the allegations while vowing to fight the accusations.
