After China launched its Long March 5 rocket on Saturday night, the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) issued a warning about falling rocket debris.
The agency estimated the debris drop zone to be near Burgos, Ilocos Norte, and parts of Cagayan, including Dalupiri Island, Santa Ana, and Camiguin Norte.
PhilSA said the rocket was launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan at 8:30 p.m.
The warning was also communicated through a Notice to Airmen to alert pilots of the aerospace activity.
Residents in the affected areas were advised not to approach or retrieve debris, as it may contain toxic substances like rocket fuel.
