The government has proposed a record P58.53 billion for the Local Government Support Fund under the 2027 national budget, Executive Secretary Ralph Recto said.
The fund will support projects such as farm-to-market roads, water systems, health facilities and evacuation centers, as well as a free rice program for nearly eight million families.
Recto said LGUs will also receive a record P1.4 trillion share from national taxes in 2027.
Municipalities will get the largest portion at P448.70 billion, followed by provinces, cities and barangays.
He said the government aims to work with LGUs in identifying and delivering priority projects.
