The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Postal Corp. launched commemorative stamps celebrating 80 years of partnership between the Philippines and the United Nations.
Alongside the stamps, the DFA unveiled a digital archive of Philippine statements at the UN General Assembly from 1946 to 2024.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo highlighted the country’s long-standing multilateral experience as it prepares to seek a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in 2027.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on the international community to support the Philippines’ bid to represent the Asia-Pacific Group in the upcoming UNSC elections.
Philippine Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo emphasized the nation’s pride in its UN role and commitment to addressing global challenges through principled diplomacy.
