Malacañang has announced that the families of the three students killed in the Tacloban school shooting will each receive P150,000 in financial assistance from the Office of the President.
Injured students will also receive P50,000 each, with the total aid package amounting to more than P1 million when combined with other government support.
The announcement was made by Palace Press Officer Claire Castro during a briefing on July 1 amid the ongoing Senate investigation into the incident.
Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. extended his condolences and assured the victims’ families that justice will be pursued.
She also noted that minors involved in the case are covered by existing laws on children in conflict with the law, which prioritize rehabilitation over imprisonment.
