The Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) began turning over documents related to the flood control anomalies probe to the Office of the Ombudsman, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s statement that the commission’s work is complete.
Two police trucks delivered the documents to the Ombudsman headquarters in Quezon City, with ICI executive director Brian Keith Hosaka meeting officials to facilitate the handover.
Created under Executive Order No. 94 in September 2025, the three-member commission was tasked with investigating corruption in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and related agencies.
Over its 125-day investigation, the ICI conducted hearings, reviewed evidence, and submitted nine referrals recommending criminal and administrative charges against 65 individuals, while assets worth around P25 billion were frozen or seized.
Currently, the commission operates with only its chairperson, Andres Reyes, after two commissioners resigned last December.
