Senator JV Ejercito said the Senate will continue investigating alleged anomalies in flood control projects despite the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
He stressed that those responsible, including lawmakers allegedly involved in irregular contracts, must be held accountable.
The Office of the Ombudsman is preparing criminal charges against several lawmakers based on the Senate’s investigation.
Ejercito also assured that legislative work, budget deliberations, and oversight functions will continue alongside the impeachment proceedings.
He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability to prevent the misuse of public funds.
