President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday conferred the Order of Sikatuna on outgoing Hungarian Ambassador Titanilla Tóth in recognition of her efforts to strengthen Philippines-Hungary relations.
During her farewell call at Malacañan Palace, Marcos thanked Tóth for her service and expressed hope that she would return to visit the Philippines.
Hungary and the Philippines established diplomatic relations in 1973, with Hungary continuing to support the early conclusion of a European Union-Philippines Free Trade Agreement.
Marcos also met with outgoing Dutch Ambassador Marielle Geraedts, thanking her for helping advance bilateral relations and Philippine development initiatives.
The President reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to further strengthening its partnerships with both Hungary and the Netherlands.
