Ferdinand Marcos Jr. commended Guinness World Record holder Claro “Lito” De Veterbo during a courtesy call at Malacañan Palace on May 20.
De Veterbo was recognized as the fastest person to cross the Philippines on foot, completing the journey from Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, to Glan, Sarangani, in 147 days.
The President praised his achievement, which Guinness World Records officially recognized in October last year.
Marcos also highlighted De Veterbo’s advocacy for environmental protection and responsible tourism through his “leave no trace” mission.
The Palace said the feat promotes sustainability and Filipino pride.
