Malacañang has declared May 27, 2026, as a regular holiday nationwide in observance of Eid al-Adha.
Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto signed Proclamation No. 1264 by authority of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to allow the Muslim community to celebrate the Feast of Sacrifice.
Eid al-Adha commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.
The declaration was recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos based on the Islamic lunar calendar’s expected observance date.
As a regular holiday, workers are entitled to holiday pay under labor laws.
