The Makati City government received a “Highly Functional” rating in the 2025 Local Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment, scoring 101 out of 110 points.
This high score reflects the city’s strong implementation of programs to protect women and children from abuse and human trafficking.
The assessment reviewed factors such as organization, meetings, policies, budget allocation, and accomplishments, where Makati earned near-perfect marks.
Mayor Nancy Binay said the recognition highlights the city’s dedication to ensuring the safety of vulnerable sectors.
Key initiatives include case management for survivors, cash assistance, gender-responsive training, and awareness campaigns like the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
