Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices are expected to increase in August due to renewed tensions in the Middle East, although the Department of Energy (DOE) said local supply remains stable.
Republic Gas Corp. President Arnel Ty said suppliers have diversified imports, including sourcing from the United States, to reduce reliance on the Middle East.
Meanwhile, diesel prices may decline by P0.50 to P1 per liter and gasoline by P1 to P1.50 per liter next week, based on global oil price movements.
The projected rollback follows this week’s sharp increases in gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices.
The DOE said the country’s LPG supply as of July 24 is sufficient to last about 35.77 days.
