The Bureau of Immigration (BI) emphasized the need for collaboration among various state agencies to effectively guard the Philippines’ borders and coastline.
BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval proposed a “one-stop shop” approach for monitoring efforts, ensuring all agencies are aligned in their goals.
She also suggested establishing a centralized intelligence information system to enhance coordination.
This proposal follows the recent apprehension of seven undocumented Chinese workers found on a ship in Navotas on September 15.
The BI believes that a unified approach is crucial for improving border security.
