First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos is pushing reforms to make it easier for Indian medical students to study in the Philippines, saying the country must improve its systems to attract more foreign learners.
In a meeting with government agencies and Indian Ambassador Harsh Kumar Jain on June 3, discussions focused on improving visa processing, reducing administrative burdens, and strengthening coordination between schools and government offices.
She emphasized the Philippines’ commitment to welcoming international students and supporting Filipino education.
Marcos also said reforms are needed if the country aims to become a regional educational hub.
The Indian Embassy welcomed the initiative and pledged continued cooperation to address the concerns of Indian medical students.
