NICOLAS TORRE TAKES ONE-MONTH LEAVE AMID BUSWAY CONTROVERSY

MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III took a one-month leave following the controversy over his use of the EDSA Busway.

MMDA Chairman Don Artes said Torre had initially expressed plans to retire from public service when they met on Monday.

However, Artes advised Torre to reconsider his decision, leading him to take a one-month leave instead.

Artes maintained that he still trusts Torre and considers him an asset to the MMDA despite the controversy.

The MMDA chairman also stressed that one incident should not define Torre’s public service record, citing his contributions to the country and the agency.
