PLDT High Speed Hitters secured third place in the PVL Invitational after defeating Creamline Cool Smashers, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The victory gave PLDT its second consecutive bronze medal and marked its second win over Creamline in just three nights.
Savi Davison led PLDT with 29 points, while Jovie Prado added 12 points, including crucial hits in the final two sets.
The loss left Creamline without a podium finish and prevented the 11-time champion from reaching what could have been its 21st podium appearance in 22 conferences.
Earlier, Farm Fresh defeated Ho Chi Minh City Volleyball Federation in straight sets to finish fifth, with coach Koji Tsuzurabara saying the team must adapt to the changing style of PVL volleyball.
