ABALOS WELCOMES PACQUIAO’S NEW ANTI-POVERTY ROLE

Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos welcomed the appointment of former senator Manny Pacquiao as the lead convenor of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC).

Abalos said Pacquiao is well-suited for the position because he personally experienced poverty before becoming a world-renowned boxer and public figure.

He described Pacquiao as an inspiration to millions of Filipinos and someone who understands the struggles of poor communities.

Abalos also expressed confidence that Pacquiao will bring compassion and determination to his new role in fighting poverty.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. formally administered Pacquiao’s oath of office at Malacañang.
