Miguel Tabuena has made history as the first Filipino golfer to join the LIV Golf League, earning a spot on Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC after Patrick Reed’s departure opened a roster spot.
The 31-year-old tees off on February 4 at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia, stepping into the league’s fast-paced, team-based format with no guarantees beyond this week’s event.
Tabuena’s entry is a result of his strong performance on the Asian Tour International Series, including a breakthrough victory at the inaugural International Series Philippines and a solid showing at the Saudi International last December.
He described the opportunity as a milestone for both his career and Philippine golf, emphasizing the privilege of competing alongside major champions.
For the Philippines, his presence in LIV Golf represents a historic breakthrough and proof that homegrown talent can compete on one of the sport’s most elite global stages.
