The UAAP Board has imposed a perpetual ban on former Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin and suspended team officials involved in the Aurora team-building activity that preceded the deaths of student-athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili last June.
The sanctions, which are final and not appealable, also cover team manager Epok Quimpo, five assistant coaches, and physical therapist John Eric Rueca.
The UAAP based its decision on Ateneo’s internal investigation and reports from the PNP-CIDG and NBI.
Despite the sanctions, the Ateneo Blue Eagles were cleared to compete in the UAAP Season 89 basketball tournament.
The league also ordered Ateneo to review its athletics structure and strengthen student-athlete safety, welfare, and oversight.
