Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said the filing of plunder charges against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta will proceed despite the ongoing rally of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
In an ambush interview on July 1, Remulla said the situation has not changed, and the Ombudsman will move forward with the case.
He also denied claims of selective justice, stressing that the office acts independently and without bias.
The charges are linked to campaign donations received by Marcoleta during the 2025 elections. Remulla earlier said the plunder case is expected to be filed within the week.
