Senator Erwin Tulfo urged the government and private companies to adopt work-from-home and ride-sharing arrangements to help workers cope with rising fuel prices.
He said employees in roles like planning, research, customer service, and administration can report online if their physical presence is not required.
Tulfo cited the pandemic-era WFH setup, which proved effective, and noted that online medical consultations and education were also successfully conducted.
For jobs requiring on-site work, he recommended carpooling or using ride-hailing apps to share transportation costs.
The senator stressed that these measures can help reduce commuting expenses and address the shortage of public utility vehicles caused by high fuel costs.
