DE LIMA OUTRAGED OVER 29 DEAD ANIMALS DUMPED IN BULACAN

Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima condemned the discovery of 29 dead dogs and cats dumped in a vacant lot in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, calling the incident an inhumane act.

The animals were allegedly entrusted to a pet crematorium by their owners but were dumped instead of being properly cremated, according to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

De Lima called for those responsible to be identified and held accountable.

She also urged lawmakers to prioritize the passage of the proposed Animal Welfare Enforcement Act and Revised Animal Welfare Act to strengthen animal protection.

Meanwhile, PAWS urged affected pet owners to preserve evidence and seek legal assistance.
