Around 5,000 participants from barangays, schools, youth groups, and civic organizations joined the “Lakad Kontra Droga” Unity Walk in Mandaluyong City on Sunday, Nov. 23, to promote healthy living and support the fight against illegal drugs.
The event, led by the Dangerous Drugs Board, is part of Mandaluyong’s annual Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2025.
City Mayor Carmelita Abalos, DDB Chairperson Oscar Valenzuela, and former DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos emphasized the importance of community-government unity in sustaining anti-drug programs.
Valenzuela highlighted that drug prevention relies on individual choices and cooperation across all sectors of society.
The Mandaluyong City Police also noted that the walk strengthened police-community relations and reinforced the shared goal of a safer, drug-free city.
