Senator Raffy Tulfo visited the MMDA communications and command center, which monitors traffic across major Metro Manila roads using CCTV and body-worn cameras (BWCs).
MMDA officials demonstrated how BWCs capture live conversations between enforcers and violators, ensuring transparency and strengthening evidence for violations.
Tulfo noted the affordability of MMDA’s BWCs compared to other government agencies and highlighted the efficiency of the system.
He also raised concerns about the lack of hazard pay for MMDA enforcers and street sweepers, many of whom remain casual or job-order employees.
The senator pledged to push for an amendment to the Hazard Pay Law and secure funding to create regular positions for these long-serving workers.
