Vice President Sara Duterte traveled to Hong Kong from Nov. 6 to 8 to attend various activities, including an event organized by the Filipino community, ahead of the resumption of her impeachment trial on Nov. 9.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) said her trip was approved by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court and the Office of the President.
Duterte will shoulder all travel expenses using her personal funds, with no government resources involved.
Meanwhile, the OVP denied reports of a 10-gigabyte data leak involving its scheduling platform, saying it was not a government website and contained no confidential government information.
The office also raised concerns that the allegations may be part of a politically motivated effort to discredit the Vice President.
