Amihan Global Strategies Inc. is investing $1 million to establish an academy that will train Filipino engineers for high-demand jobs as forward-deployed engineers (FDEs) in major US technology companies.
Chairman Winston Damarillo said the initiative aims to position the Philippines as a leading source of FDEs amid the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) specialists.
The academy currently has 50 AI-trained engineers, 22 of whom are certified to manage solutions developed by Anthropic.
Amihan aims to produce at least 1,000 FDEs, with its first training program scheduled to begin on Nov. 24 in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology.
The two-week program, which costs P50,000 per participant, will also be offered to leading engineering schools to prepare Filipino talent for opportunities in the global technology industry.
