REMULLA TO PURSUE COMPLAINTS AGAINST ONLINE HEALTH MISINFORMATION

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla will file complaints with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Facebook over false reports about his health and his office.

He said the complaints aim to remove social media accounts spreading misinformation and propaganda that could undermine public confidence in the government.

Remulla clarified that he has been cancer-free for nearly three years despite rumors about his condition.

He said the false claims were brought to his attention by concerned media friends.

He also warned against the use of social media to deceive the public and spread misleading information.
