REMULLA DELAYS FRANCE TRAVEL TO ADDRESS SOUTH COTABATO SCHOOL SHOOTING

DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla will delay his scheduled trip to France by two to three weeks to focus on addressing the school shooting at Banga National High School in South Cotabato.

Remulla said he will meet with the Department of Education (DepEd) to develop guidelines aimed at preventing similar shooting incidents in schools.

He is also expected to report to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on September 21 and help craft additional rules on school safety.

Remulla was scheduled to travel to France on September 22 to meet with Interpol officials and seek a Red Notice against former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.

Despite the delay, Remulla said securing Co’s arrest remains a top priority, noting that authorities have located him in Paris.
