President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the DepEd, DILG, and PNP to report on measures taken to strengthen school security following the fatal shooting at Banga National High School in South Cotabato.
The incident reportedly left three people dead, including the 16-year-old suspected gunman, and eight others injured.
Marcos also ordered a thorough investigation into how the minor obtained a firearm and brought it into the school.
He said the government will announce additional measures to address security gaps and protect students.
The Banga shooting was the country’s third fatal school shooting in three months, following incidents in Tacloban City and Zamboanga.
