Quezon City has been officially named the host of the 67th Palarong Pambansa, bringing the country’s premier national sporting event back to the National Capital Region.
The hosting duties were formally turned over to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte by Agusan del Sur Governor Santiago Cane Jr. during the closing ceremonies of the 2026 Palarong Pambansa.
Belmonte described the event as a “full circle moment,” noting that the city last hosted the games in 1966, the same year Amoranto Stadium was inaugurated.
She said Quezon City aims to provide a “champion’s experience” for young athletes and highlighted the city’s accessibility as a central hub for participants nationwide.
Preparations are now underway for the May 2027 games, which will mark the return of the Palaro to Metro Manila after four years.
