He visited a San Juan wet market with the Departments of Agriculture and Trade and Industry to monitor prices and ensure stability.
Marcos warned vendors against exploiting the Middle East crisis by raising prices above government-set levels.
Meanwhile, Congress approved a bill granting him emergency powers to suspend the excise tax on fuel, though he has not specified when he will use them.
The government has also begun distributing fuel subsidies to help mitigate the impact of record-high oil prices on living costs.
