The Philippines has allocated P20.785 million to support its campaign for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2027–2028, Malacañang said.
The budget, approved under the 2026 General Appropriations Act, will fund all campaign activities to promote the country’s candidacy.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who returned from a working visit to New York, emphasized that the Philippines is ready to give a voice to the Indo-Pacific, including developing and climate-vulnerable nations.
During his trip, Marcos addressed the UN General Assembly and hosted a luncheon with UN Permanent Representatives to rally support for the bid.
The campaign underscores the country’s commitment to being an independent, trusted, and active partner in global peace and development.
