President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) to discuss measures to protect workers and create jobs amid global disruptions from the Middle East crisis.
The PSAC proposed initiatives, including rapid job matching, workforce redeployment, expanded job fairs, and accelerated infrastructure and school construction projects.
To support displaced overseas Filipino workers, the council recommended micro-credential training, entrepreneurship programs, and digital subsidies for public transport and export-oriented firms.
A key proposal is AI Upskilling para sa Digital Asenso (AIUDA), a program to quickly transition workers into digital and remote jobs.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro criticized Vice President Sara Duterte for being unaware of these government efforts, saying her attacks do not help address the crisis.
