Malacañang dismissed a private citizen’s letter urging an investigation into First Lady Liza Marcos as baseless and akin to a nuisance candidacy.
The letter, submitted by John Santander to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), alleged ties between Marcos and businessman Maynard Ngu, who is accused of being a “bagman” for Senator Chiz Escudero.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro called the claims hearsay, noting that Santander provided no evidence or technical allegations.
The ICI will still review the letter to determine if there is cause for further action.
The First Lady has chosen not to comment on the matter.
