Former Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman has been appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as chairperson and CEO of Al-Amanah Islamic Investment Bank of the Philippines.
Malacañang defended the appointment, saying Marcos believes Pangandaman is capable of leading the state-run Islamic bank.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the administration remains open to investigations involving any official, including members of the President’s own Cabinet.
Pangandaman resigned from the Department of Budget and Management last year after her office was linked to flood control controversies.
Castro said Pangandaman is not facing any case and that complaints may be filed if there is sufficient evidence.
